Learn How To Use Your Dishwasher Properly
A dishwasher can make washing your dishes much easier than doing them by hand. The machine gets the water to a high enough temperature that germs and bacteria are killed during the wash cycle. There are many people who have no idea how to load a dishwasher properly though. It is important to take the time to make sure that you use your dishwasher the right away, if you want your dishes to come out as clean as they can possibly be. Use the following guide to learn how to properly use your dishwasher.
Rinse Dishes before Loading Them
It is important to scrape any food from your dishes and rinse them off before loading them into the dishwasher. While the dishwasher is powerful enough to remove stuck on food from the dishes, the food that is removed will fall to the bottom of the dishwasher and often get stuck in the components that make it work properly. Many dishwasher owners never take the time to clean out their dishwasher so the food that collects in the bottom can cause the dishwasher to stop working properly.
Load the Dishwasher Properly
When you are loading the dishwasher, you want to take the time to make sure that the spinning arms that have the jets built into them are able to circulate without anything blocking their movement. Many people try to jam as many dishes into the dishwasher as they can at one time to ensure that they only have to do one load of dishes a day. When the rotating arms cannot move freely, they can be damaged and need to be replaced. It is best to push both the top and bottom rack into the dishwasher and attempt to manually turn the rotating arm located under the bottom of the top rack before turning on the dishwasher. This will ensure it can move freely and that your dishes will get as clean as possible.
Allow Fresh Air to Dry the Dishes
While many dishwashers offer you the ability to use a heated dryer that is built into the dishwasher to dry your dishes, this dryer is not always the best option to choose. The dryer will use a lot of electricity, which could cause your electric bill to go sky high when you use it. Simply crack the dishwasher door after washing the dishes to allow them to air dry.
If you use the tips provided, you can rest assured that your dishes will always come out clean and that your dishwasher will last as long as possible. Loading and unloading your dishwasher is much easier than washing your dishes by hand so it is best to take care of your dishwasher as well as you can.
